...I found out what the issue was. It's so silly.
I had set the preload option from true to false while trying to figure something else out and never changed it back. Hence people were getting weird missing text or pictures bc it wasn't done loading lmao.
The engine is monogatari.io, It was one of the ones that I found that was dedicated for browser use for VNs. But during the development of TFA, it got a major update/upgrade so at lot of the previous documentation help was no longer available and the ones for the upgraded version uses slightly different syntax. And I didn't want to upgrade when I was just about done lol and had tweaked some things for this already.
Anyways, thank you again really for including my game in your review. It was really helpful to see the way the game was glitching out bc it wasn't always replicable on my end lol. Gonna check out those other VNs now, thanks!

sigh, i think i should just go into making webcomics at this rate. i've been having technical issues with the "pages" of my visual novel not showing properly. thank you for thinking it was a cute story at least, despite the pretty terrible issues lol. gonna go back to debugging now aha

Haha, it's all good: the programmer in my actually loved the little meta mini-game of trying to figure out a solution. Is this a custom-built engine? I'm wondering if you can use an existing engine to create the visual novels instead, if they work for you that is. I'm attaching a few of the other visual novels I've encountered on here, some of them use Ren'py and such, maybe you can find a solution for you because I'd love to see more games from you!
